7th grade boys baseball defeated by Garnet Valley 8-5

The 7th grade boys baseball team was defeated 8-5 by Garnet Valley last Friday.  Despite the weather conditions, the team played hard to cut the early deficit to only one run before GV scored two runs late to secure the victory.  Will Silverman and Eddie May pitched well for Welsh Valley.  Pierce Hagg doubled home the first two runs of the game for Welsh Valley.  Overall, a great team effort put forth by the Dragons.

8th Grade Boys Soccer’GREEN’ Team

The 8th grade boys soccer ‘GREEN’ team defeated Valley Forge on Monday, 21Oct., by a score of 4-1. Goals were scored by Zev Cotler with 1, and Noah Cox with a hat trick. The ‘GREEN’ team will continue play on Friday, 25Oct.

115 Pound Football VS Drexel Hill Middle School

The 115 pound football team lost to Drexel Hill Middle School today 26-8.  The dragons gave up 18 straight points leading up to the middle of the third quarter.  This was impressive considering that the team was playing with only 16 players.  Even though they gave up three touchdowns before scoring their own, the defense made sure that the two point conversions were no good.  Max Pugh scored a touchdown on a 40 yard run to put the Dragons on the scoreboard.  There was a penalty on the ensuing 2 point conversion that pushed the Dragons back to the Raiders 15 yard line.  On the next play Max Pugh ran the ball in for a 2 point conversion bringing the score to 18-8 Drexel Hill.  The Dragons got the ball back a few plays later on an interception, and the offense started driving the ball down the field and got to Drexel Hill’s 30 yard line, but then lost the ball on a fumble.  The Raiders drove down the field for a touchdown and 2 point conversion.  Time ran out on the Dragons, but they played their hearts out, and the game was closer than the score indicated.

8th Grade Boys Soccer ‘GREEN’ Team Wins On The Road

The 8th grade boys soccer ‘GREEN’ team came away with a win on the road today, beating Ridley by a score of 4-1. Great play was had by all. Goals were scored by Zev Cotler, Sam Rosenberg, and Noah Cox with 2. Griffin Layden gets the win between the posts and almost had the shutout, getting his hand on a penalty kick that deflected into the goal.

WVMS Unlimited Football team falls to GVMS 39-28

The Welsh Valley Unlimited Weight Football Team turned in an outstanding effort against Garnet Valley Middle School.  Drew Levin led the offense to three scoring drives, and Jon Zamasky led the final touchdown drive of the game to close out a great team performance.  Griffin Berkowitz also caught a touchdown pass, while Emerson Ahn and Devon Tate played well defensively.

The Dragons will be back in action against Haverford MS on friday at Welsh Valley.

The 8th grade boys soccer ‘GREEN’ team defeated Springton Lake on the road Friday, by a score of 6-1. Goals were scored by Josh Yang with 2 goals, Max beck, Noah Cox, Jamie Bregman, and Zev Cotler. Griffin Leyden stood strong between the posts and the defense kept the shots to a minimum. Great work boys.
