WV defeats T-E 5-3

The 7th grade baseball team defeated T-E yesterday 5-3.  Will Silverman pitched 4 innings of no-hit ball before being relieved by Eddie May, who recorded his second save of the season.  Offensively, the Dragons were led by Taylor Scribner, Noah Stern, and Pierce Hagg, who doubled with the bases loaded in the third inning.  It was a great team win by the Dragons.

Boys’ Lacrosse Schedule Update for 4/29 – 5/2

The boys’ lacrosse games on Tuesday, April 29th and Wednesday, April 30th have been postponed.  They have not been rescheduled at this time.

There will be NO boys’ lacrosse practice on Wednesday, April 30th.

We are scheduled to play Paxon Hallow tomorrow (May 1st) at home.  The “B” team will play first.

7th & 8th Grade Softball

7th & 8th Grade softball will NOT have practice today (4/30/14)

Remaining week (depending on weather):

Thursday: 7th grade away at Haverford. 8th grade practice until 5:30.

Friday: 7th grade Home vs Radnor. 8th grade away at Radnor.

Drexel Hill beats WV 11-1

The Welsh Valley Dragons lost to Drexel Hill 11-1.  The Dragons had many scoring opportunities but could not capitalize.  Eddie May started and pitched well for the Dragons, and Pierce Hagg finished up in a relief role.  Michael Becker singled and scored the team’s only run after being involved in a rundown.  The team hustled all day long and played well defensively.  Trevor Roy and Tommy Strazewski connected for a double-play and Harrison Weiner was solid at third base.

BC defeats WV

The Welsh Valley 7th grade baseball team lost to BC 13-1.  Despite the loss, the boys played hard and turned two double-plays against a tough hitting Knights lineup.  Sean Lee hit a double and scored the team’s lone run.  Pierce Hagg, Will Silverman, and Harrison Weiner pitched well for the Dragons.

Monday: Practice until 5:30

Tuesday: Practice until 4:30 (option to stay until 5:30 to watch 7th grade game)

Wednesday: Practice until 4:30

WVMS defeats Springton Lake 5-3

The Welsh Valley 7th grade baseball team defeated Springton Lake 5-3 behind the strong pitching of Pierce Hagg, Will Silverman, and Eddie May.  Ty Bookstaver was solid behind the plate and collected two hits, including a double in the second inning.  RBI hits were added by Noah Stern, Eddie May while Nash Solon collected three stolen bases.

7th grade boys baseball defeated by Garnet Valley 8-5

The 7th grade boys baseball team was defeated 8-5 by Garnet Valley last Friday.  Despite the weather conditions, the team played hard to cut the early deficit to only one run before GV scored two runs late to secure the victory.  Will Silverman and Eddie May pitched well for Welsh Valley.  Pierce Hagg doubled home the first two runs of the game for Welsh Valley.  Overall, a great team effort put forth by the Dragons.

8th Grade Schedule Week of 4/7-11

8th Grade Team

Our game this Monday vs. Strath Haven has been switched to Wednesday. Here is the updated schedule for this week.

Monday: Practice until 5:15

Tuesday: Home vs. Haverford

Wednesday: Home vs. Strath Haven

Thursday: Home vs. Springton Lake

Friday: NO Practice. Have a nice Spring Break! 🙂
