WV defeats Valley Forge 5-1

The 7th grade baseball team shook off a shaky first inning by a pesky Valley Forge team.  Valley Forge loaded the bases with two outs and an error by the Dragons defense led to the only run scored by VF.  Eddie May was outstanding on the mound through six innings, and Nash Solon pitched the seventh inning to secure the win for the Dragons.  Tommy Strazewski set the table for the Dragons offense in the leadoff spot and big hits were recorded by Ethan Boni and Harrison Weiner.

WV takes down Paxon-Hollow 5-4

The 7th grade baseball team defeated a tough Paxon-Hollow team 5-4.  Eddie May pitched 6 strong innings for the Dragons and Harrison Weiner pitched a solid 7th inning to earn the save.  The Dragons defense was solid all afternoon despite a swirling wind that played havoc with any fly-ball.  The Dragons recorded six stolen bases on the day and scored four runs in the third inning.

ET Richardson defeats WV 16-9

ET Richardson defeated the 7th grade baseball team in a wild game that featured both teams hitting in the second inning for 45 minutes each.  The Dragons pounded out double digit hits and scored their most runs in any contest this season.  Nash Solon, Harrison Weiner, and Shea Avellino saw time on the mound for WV.  Despite being down by 10 runs at one point, the Dragons battled back to make the game meaningful.

WV defeats Ridley

The 7th grade baseball team defeated Ridley Middle School 5-1.  Nash Solon hit the fence in right centerfield and narrowly missed a 3 run homerun by three feet to jumpstart the offense in the 3rd inning.  The Dragon’s pitching kept Ridley off balance and the defense was solid led by Tommy Strazewski and Sean Lee, and Michael Becker behind the plate.

Strath-Haven defeats WV 7-6

The 7th grade baseball team lost to Strath-Haven 7-6.  Strong pitching performances were turned in by Will Silverman, Shea Avellino, and Pierce Hagg.  The offense kept the pressure on Strath-Haven all afternoon chasing their starting pitcher in the 5th inning.

Last Reminder for Thursday 5/15

Our party will be in the Cafeteria Thursday 5/15 until 4:15pm. Please remember to bring your $26 for the sweatshirts if you plan on getting one. This is the FINAL DAY to turn it in. If you need to write a check, please make it out to James Scott.

Also, if you have not yet given the coaches $5 for pizza money, we ask that you bring it to Mr. Scott FIRST THING Thursday morning.

PLEASE remember to bring your entire uniform to the party as we will be collecting them. Please don’t make us track you down for the rest of the year in order to get it back.

Sweatshirt orders/Party info

The final cost for sweatshirts is $26. If you would like to order one, we ask that you please have the money to us by Monday 5/12. We would like to get the order in as soon as possible since the end of the school year is quickly approaching. If you would like to write a check, they can be made out to James Scott.

Don’t forget, our party is after school on Thursday! $5 for pizza is also due by Monday 5/12.

Remainder of Softball Season

Here is the schedule for the remainder of the season:

Friday 5/9: Practice until 4:15

Monday 5/12: 7th grade practice until 4:15…8th grade Home game vs. Valley Forge

Tuesday 5/13: 7th grade Home vs. ET Richardson…8th grade away at ET Richardson

Wednesday: Enjoy your free time after school!

Thursday 5/15: End of year party in the Cafe until 4:15

 

Girls have been asked to bring certain items to our party next Thursday. If you are not able to bring the item, do not worry about it. We will have plenty of food! We will also be getting pizza so we ask that the girls please bring us $5 by Monday to chip in.

Also, we are planning on ordering hoodies for the girls. Right now it looks like the prices are about $30. We will have the final price by tomorrow and will let you know. This is completely optional. If you want to purchase one, the money will be due on Monday as well. We want to get the order in as soon as possible so we can receive them quickly.
